ELIGIBILITY & FIELD COMPOSITION - WOMEN'S PRIORITY
Open to all female amateurs who are members of the OVGA or recognized Provincial Public Player Program.
Handicap indices are required for eligibility. All player indexes will be verified with the Golf Canada Handicap System.
Women's Division 'A' - Index 12.0 and below
Women's Division 'B' - Index 12.1 and up

Women's Field Composition
The Women's City and District field will be 30 players* determined in the following process.

At the close of entries, the field will be established by players who have entered by the deadline date and appear on the priority list and the field will be filled by players according to the OVGA policy on tournament over-subscription.
ORDER OF MERIT POINTS AVAILABLE
Order of Merit points are awarded to top 25 finishers.
1st = 1,000 points, 2nd = 900, 3rd = 800, etc... down to 150.
Top 15 players in the Order of Merit rankings qualify to play in the season-ending OVGA Cup to be held at the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club on September 11, 2023.
Low Gross and Low Net prizes are awarded within each division.
Trophies and vouchers are awarded to the OVERALL winner of each division.
Division 1 - Ahearn Trophy will be awarded to the player with the low gross score over 36 holes of play (adjusted if necessary) - In the event of a tie for fist place - see the tie breaking procedure
Division 2 - Rose Bowl Trophy will be awarded to the player with the low gross score over 36 holes of play (adjusted if necessary) - in the event of a tie for first place - see the tie breaking procedure
Mina Dennison Sheild is awarded to the Club with 4 low nets (Total)* on Day 1 of City and District
*Adjusted for differences in course ratings, if applicable
Method of Breaking Ties
A tie for the Ahearn and Rose Bowl Trophies will play in a Sudden Death Play-Off. If a play-off is not possible due to weather or darkness, the tied players will share 1st Place. The sudden death hole should have been selected prior to the completed round and will depend largely on the course, the amount of course traffic and the generosity of the Club Owner/Management/Pro Shop. A tied player that is not available to play shall default to the other players. A Rules or Tournament Official must accompany the players during the playoff.
Rose Bowl Trophy - low gross over 36 holes
As soon as all cards have been handed in and a tie for the low gross score over the two days has been identified, the Tournament Committee will arrange for extra holes to be played. The starting hole for the playoff should have been selected prior to the first completed round of the day and should be determined in conjunction with the Pro Shop or Management. The players tied for the low gross score shall begin play on the selected hole and continue until a player wins a hole outright. If more than two players are involved in the playoff and two players tie for the low gross score on a hole but the other player(s) have a higher gross score, the player(s) with the higher gross score on the hole shall be eliminated and the playoff shall continue with the remaining players until only one player has the low gross score on a hole. A Rules or Tournament Official must accompany the players during the playoff.
Ahern Bowl Trophy - low gross over 36 holes

Mina Denison Shield
A tie for the fourth position on a club’s team is broken by the back nine retrogression applied to the net scores.
If there is a tie for the fourth spot on a team (fourth low net), then the Prize Committee should identify the net scores for the back nines for each of the players in the tie. The player with the lowest net score for the back nine becomes the fourth team member. If the tie is not broken by this procedure, then the Tournament Committee should total the tied players’ gross scores for holes 13 through 18.
If there is a tie between two Clubs for the total of the four low nets, then the tie shall be broken by comparing the highest 18-hole net scores on each team. The team with the lower net score in this comparison is the winner of the Mina Denison Shield. If the tie persists after this comparison, then the 18-hole scores for the players with the second highest net scores on each team should be compared. This method of breaking ties shall persists with each of the four players from highest to lowest net score until the tie is broken.

Bri d’égalités
Une égalité pour les trophées Ahearn et Rose Bowl est brisée par une éliminatoire à résultat immédiat. Un officiel des règles doit accompagner les joueuses au cours de cette éliminatoire. Dans le cas de la plaque Mina Denison, une égalité pour la quatrième place dans l’équipe d’un club est brisée par rétrogression sur le retour appliquée sur les pointages nets, ajustés si nécessaire (voir la section intitulée « Ajustement des handicaps »). Dans le cas où deux clubs seraient à égalité, référez-vous à la procédure détaillée. Une égalité pour le plateau Allie Jones est brisée par rétrogression applicable aux pointages de la ronde de qualification.
Procédure détaillée
Trophées Ahearn et Rose Bowl - pointage brut le plus bas dans chaque division après 36 trous
Dès que toutes les cartes de pointages sont reçues et qu’une égalité est identifiée pour le pointage brut le plus bas après deux jours, le Comité du tournoi fera les arrangements nécessaires pour que des trous additionnels soient joués. Le trou à partir duquel l’éliminatoire débutera devrait être sélectionné avant la fin de la ronde de chaque journée en collaboration avec le professionnel ou le directeur général. Les joueuses à égalité devront reprendre le jeu sur le trou désigné et la poursuivre jusqu’à ce que l’une d’entre elles remporte clairement le trou. Si plus de deux joueuses participent à l’éliminatoire et que deux d’entre elles sont à égalité pour le pointage brut le plus bas du trou, mais que d’autres joueuses y ont inscrit des pointages plus élevés, toutes les joueuses dont le pointage est plus élevé sont éliminées et l’éliminatoire se poursuivra avec les joueuses restantes jusqu’à ce que l’une d’entre elles inscrive le plus bas pointage brut sur un trou. Une égalité pour la quatrième place dans l'équipe d'un club est départagée par la rétrogradation du back nine appliquée aux scores nets.
S'il y a égalité pour la quatrième place dans une équipe (quatrième score net le plus bas), le comité des prix doit identifier les scores nets des neuf derniers rangs pour chacun des joueurs à égalité. Le joueur ayant le score net le plus bas pour le back nine devient le quatrième membre de l'équipe. Si l'égalité n'est pas rompue par cette procédure, la commission du tournoi doit faire le total des scores bruts des joueurs à égalité pour les trous 13 à 18.
S'il y a égalité entre deux clubs pour le total des quatre scores nets les plus bas, l'égalité sera départagée en comparant les scores nets les plus élevés des 18 trous de chaque équipe. L'équipe dont le score net est le plus bas dans cette comparaison est le vainqueur du bouclier Mina Denison. Si l'égalité persiste après cette comparaison, les scores sur 18 trous des joueurs ayant les deuxièmes meilleurs scores nets de chaque équipe doivent être comparés. Cette méthode de départage persiste avec chacun des quatre joueurs, du score net le plus élevé au score net le plus bas, jusqu'à ce que l'égalité soit rompue.
